Who is Zoey?

Where did I come from? What family do I have? How did I grow up?

Who is Zoey? Well here’s a small little life story , so settle in , get comfortable. Because my small life story is about to begin.

Well I grew up with a small family, I was the youngest of all and the only girl. I have two older brothers and we are all a giant ( tall ) family. My brothers are 6’4 and 6’2, my mum at 6ft , and me at 5’10. We are all very tall my dad however is the shortest. He comes in at 5’8, so it was funny watching my parents hug or show affection as my mum always bent down and my dad needed a ladder to reciprocate her affection. My parents were good parents who always had our best interest at heart and my dad was very strict. My dad is the typical Aussie dad , always in his footy shorts , with a stubbie in his hand. Very man of the house and with just a look you knew not to keep doing that or you will be in trouble. But no we weren’t abused, however my dad was the disciplinarian.

I think I was the only one out of my whole school who wasn’t out drinking , taking drugs, skipping school or being rude to anyone or getting pregnant at 15. My dad knew where we were at all times, and I being the only girl and youngest always had my brothers with me wherever I went.

Like my own personal body guards, my dad hated us being inside stuck in front of the tv so we were always outside exploring or doing something. My brothers loved climbing trees or getting up to mischief. So I was always a tomb-boy for so long although my mum forever tried to get me to like the colour pink or dresses so much so she bought a mosquito net for my bedroom and dyed it pink. I remember coming home and she was so excited to see my reaction, but I turned my face up and told her it was disgusting and gross and I wish she would take it down , but I hated pink with a passion. She was not impressed with en that day! However things change as you grow up.

We travelled a lot around Australia we never went over seas, we always grew up by the beach , or on a property. We lived in some beautiful places like Broome , Airlie beach, or Darwin. My dad was part of the golf club and would often play on the weekends. My brother and I were part of the surf living club and would compete on the weekends with the sail boats for kids. My dad would train me on the beach for fitness and we would practice. My dad would coach the local footy team.

For school I was competing in swimming and cross country in running. I was never a distance runner.. but as the years went on I became a runner. Which in turn cost me a lot of injuries.

But then my parents settled for the quiet life and we then moved to a property and I got my first horse at 11. My mum used to rescue animals and my first horse was a rescue horse who was extremely malnourished, green as the grinch,  losing its fur and was sold to my dad for $500! We tried our hardest but couldn’t tame it. So we moved and the horse was sold. We went to a new school , and I was put into tennis and soccer, my dad tried to get me into Aussie rules, but I hated it! I loved playing instruments and music but I could never read music and with my little patience I didn’t stick around enough to try and learn anything. But after we moved ,

A year later my dad bought me my second horse who was a bay stock horse he was beautiful, lovely , and kind. I would often ride him without a saddle or reins . By that point my brother was being home schooled for various reasons and I went to public school. We didn’t see eye to eye on much because he thought I was the ‘ angel ‘ of the family as I did get to be a little spoilt and got good grades , stayed out of trouble and did all my chores. My brother was always naughty, in fights, lighting fires with his mates, and breaking into places. We didn’t get on much as we grew older we became complete opposites. My dad loved rodeos and tried to get me into barrel racing but I didn’t ride like the others in my family I always sat up straight. So my dad tried to get me into dressage. But my horse wasn’t built for it and absolutely hated it. So with a new job for my dad  , We then moved, sold the horse who I dearly loved and we moved again — we would often move from Darwin to Brisbane a lot. We didn’t stay long , moved again where my dad bought me my third horse. On the property we lived on the house down the way had a beautiful horse and was pregnant. My dad bought the foal as soon as it was born. But this one didn’t take to me. So finally my brother got the horse. He was ecstatic.

A couple years later we moved back to Darwin where I finished my year 10 in Darwin, where my dad thought it be a great idea for me to join the army cadets. While I was there I hated the first year, I was the only girl. But I grew to enjoy it. The fitness was much more difficult and my dad would train me he was a hardass and expected the best straight off the bat!

When I was 17 , I left home. We had by then moved to the sunny coast. I moved out to Brisbane. By that point, I knew how to cook clean I already had a job, and could fend for myself easily. I had my first drink of alcohol at 18 and had my first lap dance at a strip club not long after I was 18. I had snuck into the nightclub at 17. So I had that experience early. From there I worked 9 - 5 in a job I despised. Partied like no tomorrow and enjoyed my life a lot being 18! Some years later , I met some one online who offered me a proposal I didn’t refuse. You can find that story in my other blogs..

And here I am...
