Outing an escort or a sex worker is just wrong. Period.
There is no justifiable reason for anyone to ‘out’ an escort or any type of sex worker to anybody else.
Sure, a person may experience sadness, hurt feelings, confusion, and a whole bunch of other emotions when they learn that someone they know is an escort.
But what you may or may not experience when you learn of this is no reason to out a person. Outing someone is never okay.
Outing someone is an act carried out purely to create chaos and drama. It is done for vengeance, spite and to cause disruption. One could go as far as to describe it as assault as it is akin to an attack on the person you are outing.
By outing an escort, a person runs the very real risk of that person losing or destroying the relationships they have with their friends, family, and, if they work other jobs, as many do, their bosses and co-workers. In a worst case scenario, outing an escort could rob someone on their ability to earn a living for themselves and their family.
As unpleasant as outing a single individual might be, there are others who are more unfortunate. There are countless stories of women being threatened by ex-boyfriends and ex-husbands with the prospect of being outed.
Outers in these cases no doubt feel mighty powerful and justified with their anger, but at the end of the day all they really are is a worthless piece of shit human being with zero respect for another person’s privacy and circumstance.
This is why an outer should been seen as an abuser. As black and white as that. Their acts are never intended to have a positive effect or outcome, and they are carried out only to create pain and heartache.
Just because you may feel that someone else has kept something a secret from you, or somehow you feel they have wronged you, or perhaps they do not live up to your own morals and ideals, it is never an excuse to ruin someone’s life.
Outing an escort is not going to make you get even. What you are doing is abusing someone in a very serious way, and once done it may be impossible for anyone to ever undo the fallout and correct the damage.
Please, with the greatest sincerity, please think long and hard about your actions and the potential ramifications of those actions before you out an escort or a sex worker and something happens that can never be undone.
